Our History

  • 2016 - The Start

Tony Habashy and his daughter, Noel, saw a need for Christ-centered community. Ten teens gathered in their garage or backyard for monthly meetings.

  • 2018 - Iron Teens

As the meetings grew, they became known as “Iron Teens”. Based on Proverbs 27:17, they were an opportunity for teens to come together in fellowship and prayer in a welcoming environment.

  • 2020 - Camp

After the Covid pandemic, all diocesan events and camps were canceled, creating a deep need for encounter opportunities among teens. That Summer, the first camp was held.

  • 2022 - Awaken

Awaken began In the year of the Eucharist. Awaken is a night of adoration, praise, and worship, followed by dance. Starting in January, these gatherings occurred monthly alongside the Iron Teens Meetings

  • 2022 - Catacombs

After squeezing over 70 teens in the Habashy’s garage, it became evident that a new location was necessary, and the Lord opened the doors for the catacombs building.

  • 2023 - Emmaus

In 2023, Emmaus achieved official non-profit status and was officially recognized within the Wichita Diocese with the blessing of Bishop Kemme. The ministry continues to lean on the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
